Experience Meadville Lombard's learning model firsthand

We welcome prospective students, students from other seminaries, Meadville Lombard alums, and teaching pastors/mentors to take one or more of our classes!

Prospective Students

We know that choosing the best theological school for you is a major decision, so we welcome prospective students to join us in Chicago in January, March, or July, during our Intensives, to take a class and experience firsthand our distinctive Unitarian Universalist education.

  • Take either one weekend class or a week-long Intensive course. Our Student Affairs & Admissions office can provide more information and recommendations on which of our master’s degree classes would be best for you. Open enrollment starts after our matriculated students register.
  • Credits completed as a student at large will count towards your degree program, if you are accepted and matriculate to Meadville Lombard.
  • To start the process, complete the student at large application and pay the application fee. Should you decide to apply for admission to one of our graduate degree program after taking a class, this application fee will be applied.

Prospective students can also take advantage of other ways to explore and experience Meadville Lombard:

  • Visit us: Schedule a visit to Meadville Lombard in Chicago.
  • Around the country: Our faculty and staff travel throughout the year to attend conferences and meetings around the country. Contact the Student Affairs & Admissions office at YouBelong@meadville.edu to see if one of us can meet you in your area.

Other Seminary Students

Meadville Lombard welcomes current students enrolled in Master of Divinity degree programs at non-Unitarian Universalist seminaries to join our learning community.

  • Experience learning from leaders in the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition.
  • Make connections with Meadville Lombard students who will be your peers throughout your ministerial career.

Because our Contextual Learning model programs operate in a unique scheduling which includes Intensives weeks, and some courses are year-long and some are semester-long, we urge you to contact us before the Fall registration opens regardless of the Intensives dates listed on the course offerings page.

To start the process, please complete and submit the student at large application at least a couple of weeks before the registration deadline. Registration for a year-long course must be submitted before the Fall registration closes. After we receive your student at large application, the Registrar will contact you with a student ID and instructions for how to register for a course. Open enrollment starts after our matriculated students register.

Alums and Teaching Pastors/Mentors

Meadville Lombard alums may take courses for credit or audit them at a greatly reduced fee. Simply fill out the student at large application or contact us to learn more about how to register.

Current teaching pastors and mentors are entitled to audit one class each year. For more information, please contact the Senior Director of Contextual Ministry.
